I stayed at Quinta Real Oaxaca for three nights and found the hotel beautifully historic. The location is perfect, right in the center of Oaxaca, allowing for easy walks to the cathedral and other attractions. However, my room was less than expected; I booked a master suite, but received what seemed like a regular room, which was quite small and lacked proper amenities. The service was friendly, but I faced issues with the coffee charging at the lobby that should have been complimentary for guests.

I booked a master suite but received a small regular room. The bathroom was dark, and the tv was old with poor picture quality. Overall, it felt like a lack of care in maintenance.

The location is unbeatable, within walking distance of the historic square and dining. I truly appreciated being in the center of everything.

The restaurant and bar offered decent options, but I found the breakfast buffet overpriced. The dining experience didn't fully meet my expectations for a hotel of this caliber.

The courtyards and swimming pool area were beautiful. However, some amenities felt outdated or lacking, and there were limited complimentary services.

7.0/10

I recently stayed at Quinta Real Oaxaca and had mixed feelings about my experience. The beautiful building and gardens were a highlight, but the service left much to be desired, especially considering the high price. Although the kitchen served excellent meals, the overall atmosphere was marred by inattentive staff and issues with the rooms.

I found my exterior suite on the ground floor to be both dark and small, far from what I expected. The noise from the street was constant, making it hard to relax.
Service

Service was lacking; I felt pressured for payment during room service and received little assistance with booking activities. The staff's attitude could often come off as unfriendly.

The restaurant provided one of the best buffet breakfasts I've had in Mexico, featuring lovely live music in a pleasant atmosphere.

The facilities were decent, but the lack of basic amenities, like a good coffee machine, was disappointing for a hotel of this caliber.

I recently stayed at Quinta Real Oaxaca and was captivated by the beautiful hotel and its prime location in the heart of Oaxaca. However, my experience was marred by the room I received, which did not match my expectations for a master suite. While the hotel offers a unique atmosphere as it is set in an old convent, the room's condition felt neglected. On the upside, the hotel staff was friendly and helpful, which made my stay enjoyable overall. 🌺

Rooms

My room was advertised as a master suite; however, it felt more like a standard room with limited space and outdated furnishings. The TV was old, and I struggled to find clear channels. This did not reflect the 5-star experience I anticipated.
Service

I found the staff generally helpful and warm, although my inquiry about the room type revealed misinformation which left me feeling frustrated. The reception staff seemed a bit rattled during my check-in.
Location

The hotel's location is fantastic, making it easy for me to explore all the main sights in Oaxaca. I loved the accessibility to local attractions just steps away from the hotel.
Dining

The breakfast I ordered via room service was quite satisfactory, but I wished for a broader selection. However, I noticed coffee at the lobby was being charged, which felt a bit off for an upscale hotel.
Facilities

The grounds of the hotel are lovely, with charming gardens and beautiful architecture, but some facilities like the bathrooms in my room need updating to meet a five-star standard.

I had an really good stay at Quinta Real Oaxaca, surrounded by its stunning architecture and lush gardens. The location is perfect, just a short walk to city landmarks and surrounded by great dining options. While my initial room was a bit underwhelming, the staff was incredibly accommodating and helped me switch to a much more pleasant room overlooking the pool. The breakfast was good, though I found it to be a bit hit or miss some mornings. Overall, I can't wait to return!

My stay at Quinta Real Oaxaca was filled with both charm and challenges. The hotel's beautiful, historic architecture really set the tone for my trip, but some amenities just didn’t match up to the expectations of a high-end hotel. I loved the central location and the tranquil pool area, but the issues with my room and certain service aspects left me wanting more.

Rooms

I booked a master suite but found my room to be quite small and not what I expected. The furniture felt cramped, and the antique bathroom had weak water pressure. Overall, it felt more like a regular room than a suite, which was disappointing.
Service
6.0
Staff were mostly professional and courteous, which was nice, but I did encounter moments of confusion regarding my room status that frustrated me. It felt like there was a lack of communication at times, and I expected more attention to detail from a hotel of this caliber.
Location

The location was fantastic, right in the heart of Oaxaca, making it easy to explore nearby attractions and dining options. I really appreciated how walkable everything was from the hotel.
Dining

I ordered room service for breakfast, which was decent, but I'd recommend trying local cafes outside for a better experience. The restaurants on-site served good food, but they didn’t wow me.
Facilities

The pool area was beautiful and relaxing, and I enjoyed the live music in the evenings. However, I did run into issues with the varying quality of service in terms of what was available and how it was presented.
